Happy Halloween!!

I know I'm a day early but I won't be around much on Saturday. This week has been so busy at work I have barely had time to breathe. I am exhausted when I get home. I am not doing anything special for Halloween. I haven't dressed up since college. Lame I know. Actually I have never been into Halloween. I think it is because of my non-creative side.

I am going shopping on Saturday with my mom and sister in Canton. I am hoping I find some cute holiday stuff. I am going to try and do a little Christmas shopping while I am there. Dustin is working and I will probably be even more lame and not hand out candy. It is such a hassle with the dogs. Every time the door bell rings they charge the door in attack mode (okay they don't attack but they sure do sound like it). They would probably scare away all the little kids. Ha! How cute is this??

I should try and dress Jax and Maribel up but if I did their costumes wouldn't last long. They would have them off in no time.

On Sunday we are going to take our Christmas pictures! I just love everything about Christmas. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Who Doesn't Love A Sale?!?!

I know I sure love a sale! Ann Taylor Loft is having a huge sale right now. They have a lot marked down and you get an additional 25% off the already marked down stuff. Sounds like a good deal to me. Here are a few things I might have to go pick up during lunch tomorrow.

I really want to try the legging trend. I am not sure if it is me though. I definitely need to get some new boots. I haven't looked at boots this season. I have a hard time finding any that I like. Any ideas on where I can pick up a cute pair of affordable boots?

*********

I have been so busy at work this week. I am so ready for it to be over with. I am looking forward to this weekend. In other news one of my best friends got engaged this weekend. I am so happy for her! I have known Jennifer since kindergarten and we have remained friends all these years. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and I have the honor of being a bridesmaid in her wedding.

Here she is with her ring. She is getting married December 18, 2010. I am going with her and my sister to a bridal show in a few weeks and I can't wait. I still love all the wedding stuff even though I am already married. Ha!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far!

Big Weekend of Nothing

That's right. Nothing, Nada, Zilch. Friday night Dustin and I went to eat Mexican food with my parents. Then we came home and we were in bed asleep by 10:00. I know pathetic right? I was so tired. It was a very busy week at work and this week is going to be even busier.

Saturday Dustin went to the drag races with his Dad and I went to lunch with my mom. After lunch we headed over to Hobby Lobby. I love Hobby Lobby!! I got a few Christmas decorations. I will wait to show pictures once I get my house all decorated for Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, can you believe that it is only one month until Thanksgiving??? Boy this year has flown by.

After Hobby Lobby I went to pick out some new glasses. I finally broke down and bought a new pair. My other ones I got 6 years ago and they were too weak for me. I mainly wear contacts so I really didn't have a need for glasses except at night while I was watching TV. Lately, since I sit in front of a computer at work all day, my contacts have been bothering me. My eyes burn by the end of the day. I am going to start trying to wear my glasses to work a few times a week. Here is a picture of me in my new glasses...I can't believe I am posting this....I HATE pictures of myself.

I took this picture with my laptop. I was playing around. Ha! Since I normally wear contacts, I had the hardest time putting my make-up on this morning. I wear eye make-up but since I didn't have my contacts in, it was quite difficult to put it on when you can't see. I got about as close to the mirror as I could. Ha! It is going to take some practice.

Saturday night Dustin and I went to dinner and then came home and watched some football. It was not a good day of football for me. I don't know what happened to those Red Raiders....maybe it was because they didn't have a quarter back. I think Dustin and I were in bed asleep by 10:30 again last night.

Today Dustin is working and I am just hanging out. I went to church with my parents and then to lunch. On the way home I stopped and rented The Proposal and Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past. I decided to make it a chick flick day. Just for fun I will leave you with this picture...

I was messing around with the camera again. Maribel wasn't too pleased. Ha!

Hope you all had a good weekend!

Friday Friday!

Today is a great day already, not just because it is Friday though. I got to wear my sunglasses to work...finally and I treated myself to Starbucks! It has been rainy and dreary for what seems like weeks. This morning was nothing but sunshine! That makes for a great day!

We don't have any plans for this weekend. Not one single plan. That makes me happy. We will probably just hang around the house tonight and relax. Dustin has been in school all this week and has class all next week too. He is attending a driver operator class for work. He told me the other night he is not liking this 8-5 thing. I told him welcome to my world. Ha! Tomorrow I plan to do a little shopping.....I think Hobby Lobby is calling my name. I can't wait to get some more Christmas decorations. I am slightly obsessed I think.

On a completely different note I cannot wait until this movie comes out.

I heard about this story last year when Tech played Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl. I don't watch much SEC football, especially Ole Miss, so I hadn't heard of the story before. I think this is an amazing story of love and I can't wait to see the movie. I love Sandra Bullock too! It comes out November 20.

Happy Friday!!

Wishful Wednesday - Vacay

I wish I was leaving on a plane to Hawaii.

It is raining here again and the weather is just dreary. I am extremely tired and so want to go to sleep. For now I guess I will have to keep on dreaming of falling asleep under the warm sun, next to my hubby, listening to the ocean.

If only I could make this dream come true right now!

Head over to The Seattle Smith's to play along!

We have a Winner!

The Winner of the Pioneer Woman Cookbook is......................................

Carrie @ Mizell Mayhem

I love reading Carrie's blog. She lives in Florida with her husband and adorable daughter Allie Claire. She loves all things southern and she has such a cute blog. Please hop on over and send her some love.

Congrats Carrie! As soon as the cookbook arrives I will be sending it your way.

Yesterday I left work early because I still had family in town and I went with my sister to do some wedding stuff. Right now she is trying to find a venue and set the date. I think she has decided on the venue and will probably book it later this week. I am so excited. I definitely think it is more fun to help someone plan their wedding then plan your own. Ha! You get all the fun without the stress.

It was also nice to get home earlier than normal. I got a few things done around the house. Have a wonderful day!!

Weekend Re-Cap

I had a great weekend! It flew by but don't they always? Friday night I came home and cleaned the entire house. It was starting to smell like dog and it was in need of some serious cleaning. I also gave the dogs a bath. I can't ever seem to keep my house clean with two dogs. I hate putting all that hard work into cleaning only for the house to be dirty in less than 24 hours. Those dogs sure do track in a lot of dirt. I wouldn't trade them for anything though!

Saturday I slept in and then watched the Texas vs. Oklahoma game. I can't stand either team so I was neutral. I didn't care who won but Dustin sure was happy that Texas won. Then I ran a few errands with my mom and sister and then came home and watched some of the Tech vs. Nebraska game. Tech won!! Yea!! Then Dustin and I ran to Home Depot, Pei Wei for dinner and then we went to see Stepfather. It was an okay movie. I wished that we would have saw Couples Retreat instead. Stepfather is definitely a movie you want to rent. Don't waste your money to see it at the movies.

Sunday was a busy busy day. I had family come in town from South Texas so Dustin and I headed over to my parent's house and we went to lunch with my family. Sunday afternoon Dustin played in the 1st Annual Colleyville Firefighters vs. Cops softball game! It was such a beautiful day yesterday. The weather was perfect. I don't have any pictures to share though. I took the dogs with me to the baseball fields and I didn't have a free hand for taking pictures. They require both my hands and all the strength my body has. Ha! It is hard not to fall down when 150 pounds is pulling you in different directions.

I am proud to say that the Firefighters won 31-12. Yea!!! It wasn't much of a game if you couldn't tell by the score. Dustin got 2 hits and I was proud of him. Sunday evening we went back over to my parent's house for dinner and to celebrate my grandpa's birthday. I was so excited my grandmother came in town because I sure do love her cooking. We had pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn and hot bread. I love my grandmother's pot roast. I have never had a better pot roast. Yum!

It was an early morning for me today but I am leaving work early today so I don't mind so much. I hope you yall had a wonderful weekend and have a great Monday!!!

AdOrAbLe!!!!

This video is so stinkin cute! I just wanted to share it with you. This is totally something Maribel would do!

The Trampoline Dog

Let me know if you aren't able to view the video. For some reason it won't let me post the video.

Let's Talk TV

I am sure most of you have heard that ABC announced the new Bachelor. Let me start off by saying that I haven't really watched the Bachelor or Bachelorette in quite a while. I just kind of lost interest. I will probably be watching this season though. The new Bachelor Jake Pavelka is from my hometown. He is from Denton, TX and graduated from my rival high school.

I don't know him and I have never heard of him until they announced that he was going to be on the Bachelor. I read that he was on the Bachelorette with Jillian so I am sure he is familiar to some of you. Anyways, I thought it was cool that he is from my hometown. He is also good looking.

What is up with Biggest Loser this season? For one I am not into it as much as last season and two why did they not get rid of Tracey when they had the chance?? Ugh...I was so hoping she would go home. What's your opinion?

Did anyone watch the season finale of Army Wives? It was so good and I don't know if I can wait until next summer for the new season. I absolutely love that show. I am really hoping that Denise's son didn't commit suicide. I guess we have to wait until next season to find out.

I am loving all the new shows right now!

Wishful Wednesday - Talent

I wish that if I could have a particular talent it would be to sing! I love singing!

I tell Dustin all the time that I would so be on American Idol if I could sing. I would have one minor problem....I hate singing in front of other people. I won't even sing in front of Dustin. I get to embarrassed.

When I was little I was obsessed with Dolly Parton for some reason. I really have no idea why. She had a show that came on every Saturday night. I had a play microphone and I would stand in front of the TV and sing my heart out to Dolly Parton. I knew every word and every move she made. My parent's have it on video. It really is quite hilarious. It was quite embarrassing when they drug it out to show Dustin when we were dating. I still haven't been able to live it down. He makes fun of me all the time.

Since I can't sing I will continue to live out my dream by watching American Idol and singing at the top of my lungs when I am the car.

Head over to The Seattle Smith's to play along! Happy Wednesday!

I am still trying to figure out how to use the site so bare with me. I still can't believe I joined...I said I wouldn't.
Do you twitter? If so let me know so I can follow you.

Weekend Fun!

This weekend turned out to be fun even though it started off bad. Friday I left work a little early in hopes of getting home early but traffic wasn't cooperating. It took me over an hour and a half to get home. There was a wreck and I spent about an hour just sitting. Ugh...I really hate traffic.

After I finally made it home, Dustin and I ran over to Chili's for dinner. When we got home it was more bad news. That morning the dogs were due for their heartworm pill. I was running late and I gave them their pill really fast before heading out the door to work. I threw the pills on the kitchen counter. When we came home from dinner they had eaten every single pill. I called the vet and she told me they should be fine but just to be safe we needed to induce vomiting. I had to give both the dogs hydrogen peroxide. It was not fun at all. Dustin had to hold their mouths open and I had to pour the peroxide down their throats. Maribel started vomiting almost immediately. She kept looking at us with those sad eyes like "what did you just do me". It was awful. I will admit I got a little teary eyed. I don't know what I am going to do when I have a child. Maribel threw up about 4 times and Jax never threw up. I figured it was Maribel that ate the pills anyways. Luckily everything turned out fine.

Saturday Dustin had to work and I went shopping with my mom and sister. Before we went shopping my sister went and tried on a few wedding dresses just for fun! Saturday evening my good friend Jennifer came over and we went to dinner. We finished off the night by watching episodes of Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami. Don't ask me why I like that show but I do.

This morning Dustin came home from the station and made me pancakes!! Yum! I haven't had pancakes in forever. Then we headed out to the State Fair with my parents, sister and Clark. When we first walked into the fair we see a police escort go by with 3 black SUV's. We were wondering who was important enough for that kind of security and then we see.......

OPRAH!

I am not a huge Oprah fan but she is a celebrity none the less and it is always exciting when you see a celebrity right?

I love going to the State Fair for the food and to see the cars.

Nadalee and I with our fried Snickers.

And Clark with his chicken friend bacon. Sounds kind of gross but it was actually really good. I can't believe this year's biggest hit was fried butter. DISGUSTING!

We took this as we were leaving and about 5 minutes later it started pouring down rain. We didn't have an umbrella but we did have the Sham Wow that Dustin bought. It came with 4 and you can bet that me, mom and Nadalee held those bright orange sham wows over our heads as we walked to the car. Hey, it worked and only my pants were soaked when I got to the car.

It was a fun day and sadly tomorrow is Monday. I hope you all had a good weekend.

High School Days

Sometimes Fridays take me back to my days in high school. Not really something I would ever want to re-live but high school was fun none the less. I remember being in high school and Fridays meant Friday night football games. I loved the bright stadium lights, the sound of the band playing in the stands and the rush you felt when your team took the field. You thought you were on top of the world and that this was as good as it was going to get. Oh to be young again. It does get better.... a lot better.

I remember that feeling of innocence and my only care in the world was making sure that I had plans for the weekend and what outfit I was going to wear. Heaven for bid I stay home on a Friday or Saturday night in high school. You know, it just wasn't cool. Now I love staying home on the weekends. It really doesn't get much better than that.

I remember that feeling of being a Senior and everybody was graduating and going their separate ways. I was filled with worry that things were never going to be the same. They aren't and boy am I thankful for that. I had a sense of loss and I was saddened. I still see my close friends from high school and I wouldn't have it any other way. Sometimes I wish....really only for a split second....that I could go back and be young and carefree but then I look at my reality and I am happy right where I am.

I guess my point to all my jumbled thoughts above is, that even though I become nostalgic for my high school days every once in a while I am so incredibly happy where I am today. I love my weekends at home with my husband and my fur babies. Things change and they will always be changing but they get better. I guess this morning was one of those mornings where I wished all I had to worry about was what I was going to wear to the big game tonight.

Are You a Facebook Stalker?

Not only am I a blog stalker but I am a Facebook stalker too but Facebook really annoys me. Who's bright idea was it to have an option of making your profile private to only your friends?? Yes mine is private but that doesn't mean everyone else's should be. You see, I know who a lot of people are but I don't actually "know" them. I want to be able to look at their profiles to see what they have been up to but you can't because you have to be their friend.

I would definitely look like a crazy person if I asked to be their friend because they probably would have no idea who I am. But I know who they are and I am not creepy. LOL!! Okay maybe I am a little creepy because I am trying to stalk people's profiles. Facebook should definitely create some type of device that detects rather you are a creepy stalker or just a nosy stalker like me!

If only Facebook worked like the blog world. Most everyone's blogs are public and it is perfectly acceptable to follow a blog of someone you don't know.

It would definitely make my stalking habits a lot more fun!

Wishful Wednesday - The Grass is Always Greener

I wish I could change one physical trait about myself......

If I could change one thing hands down it would be my weight. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I do not think I am fat by any means but I have always been overweight. I hate my lower body. That is my problem area. I absolutely hate working out plus I don't have much time to work out and I love food! I have always been self conscious about my weight and I will go to extreme measures to avoid a bathing suit. I seriously can't stand the way my lower body looks.

I have done lots of different diets in the past but I always gain the weight back. If I could change anything that is what it would be. Sorry to make this such a serious Wishful Wednesday but to be honest it is something I wish daily. It is difficult and I wish there was something that could get me in the right frame of mind to loose the weight and keep it off.

Just for fun, if I had to choose something else about myself to change I would change my nose. I think it is too big. LOL!

Head over to The Seattle Smith's to play along!

Giveaway Time!

Since I won my first giveaway a few weeks back I decided to hold my own giveaway!

If you have read my blog before you know that I do not like to cook. I have never really enjoyed it. However, I do love to eat! I grew up in the South and my grandmother is one mean cook. Nothing beats her cookin. A while a go my friend Kendall posted about a new blog that she found called The Pioneer Woman. I fell in love with her blog. I loved reading her series "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels". A few weeks ago I went to dinner at my friend Kelsie's house and practically our entire meal was recipes from The Pioneer Woman's blog. Everything was so delicious. Well, The Pioneer Woman is coming out with her own cookbook in October and I have decided to give a copy to one lucky reader.

She has many great recipes on her website and I know that her cookbook is going to contain even more wonderful recipes. I do like to cook for special occasions and holidays. I think this will be perfect for any occasion. She has lots of down home country recipes. So if you love to cook I know you will enjoy her cookbook. If you don't like to cook maybe you have a friend that does!

Now there is a catch, her cookbook is not released until October 27. I know, that is a few weeks a way. I have pre-ordered two of her cookbooks. One for me and one to give away. If you know me at all you know that I love to give gifts. It usually results in me not being able to wait so I either tell them what it is before I even give them the gift or I just give it to them right away. That is kind of how I am now, I can't wait to post about this giveaway. So, if you are more patient than I am please enter my giveaway! I promise as soon as the cookbook arrives on my door step I will immediately send it to the winner.

Here is how to enter:

I will accept entries until 5:00 pm Central time Monday October 19. I will announce the winner Tuesday October 20.

For one entry: leave a comment on this post.

For two entries: Become a follower of my blog. If you are already a follower leave me a comment letting me know.

For three entries: Post about this giveaway on your blog and leave me a comment letting me know.

Now get to entering! Good luck!

An Engagement and A Wedding

I am going to do my weekend re-cap backwards. My exciting news that I left you hanging with on Friday is that my baby sister got ENGAGED!!!!! I am so excited for her and Clark. I can't wait to help her plan her wedding! Here is the engagement via pictures.....

My sister was totally surprised and had no clue. Clark decided that he wanted to do it front of his family and ours. I give him props for doing in front of all of us. LOL! We all went to Saltgrass for lunch and Clark had a special message inside Nadalee's menu that read: Nadalee I love you to the moon and back, will you marry me??

It was really funny because the waiter had to wait until we were all there and seated and then he brought out the menus. We all knew what was coming except for Nadalee and of course she was the last to open her menu. We all opened our menus waiting for her to open hers and first she asked the waiter for a straw and then she sweetened her tea and then finally opened the menu. She broke into tears immediately. I was so happy that we were there to share the big moment with her.

Clark's family

My family

More than likely the wedding is going to be in June of 2011. They both want to finish school before getting married. Clark is in grad school and my sister is a junior in college. It will be a long engagement but it will give them plenty of time to plan. I am so excited for them!

Saturday night we went to Matt & Miranda's wedding at Pecan Plantation in Granbury.
Amanda F I thought of you! Ha!

Dustin was the best man. He has known Matt for a while. They met when they were both working for the Benbrook Fire Department. The wedding was fun. Here is a picture of Dustin and I. I am tired of uploading pictures today and I don't feel like uploading the rest. Ha!

I hope you all had wonderful weekend!

Oh How I Love Fridays!!

So happy it is Friday! Today is a short day at work for me! This post is probably going to be really short too. Not much going on around here lately. Tonight we have a rehearsal for a wedding and tomorrow is the wedding. Dustin's good friend Matt is getting married tomorrow! I will try and take lots of pictures to share.

Last night my work threw a party for all of our clients at The House of Blues. It was pretty cool. We had a band come and play and there was lots of yummy food and drinks. Everything turned out really well. I didn't have time to take any pictures though.

I have some exciting news to share with you (exciting to me anyways) but I can't tell you just yet.
P.S.~ No, I am not pregnant! Ha!!

Happy Friday!
