The other morning I was getting Grayson dressed for daycare and running late as usual. I was in a hurry so we wouldn't be super late. I stood him up on his changing table so I could pull his pants up. When I stood him up he reached out and put his arms around me and laid his head on my shoulder. In that moment I didn't care how late I was, I put my arms around him and held him tight. It brought tears to my eyes and in that moment I wished that he would never grow up. Of course I know he will grow up but I hope he stays forever young. I hope he stays innocent for as long as possible and I hope his heart will always be kind.
I know these moments of him wanting his Momma are going to be few and far between. One day he won't need me like he needs me now. I am trying to savor every moment of his childhood. Every time I hear the theme song to Parenthood I get chocked up. I want Grayson to stay forever young.
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.
