Holiday Fun!

Christmas is over. It came and went so fast. This was a special Christmas for me since it was Dustin and I's first Christmas as husband and wife. We didn't spend a whole lot on each other this year since we had a wedding and bought a house earlier this year. Dustin surprised me with a Fossil purse! It is red....my favorite color! He picked it out all by himself! I was proud of him. He also got me the 6th season of 90210. For those that don't know me well.....I am a 90210 freak! I absolutely love that show!

I got Dustin a few shirts, a subscription to Muscle & Fitness and a jack. He picked it out of the Sears add one day so I got it for him. Don't know if he will ever use it. It was so nice to have a long weekend off of work. On Saturday we went and saw Marley & Me. It is such a great movie! It is such a tear jerker though. I read the book a few years ago and when I heard the movie was coming out I could not wait to go see it. Dustin and I have been through our fair share of messes created by our oldest Boxer Jax. I will never forget the time we came back to my apartment after going out to dinner to my entire couch shredded all over my apartment. It was a disaster. I can't even remember all the things he has torn up over the first year and a half of his life. Thank goodness he has calmed down! Anyways, if you get the chance to go see Marley & Me, go see it! Jennifer Anniston & Owen Wilson are great in this movie!

Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I am so excited to spend my first Christmas with Dustin as husband and wife. We don't have any really big plans since both of our families live in the metroplex. I have to work half a day on Christmas Eve and then we are going to my parent's house to do our gift exchange with my aunt, uncle and cousins. Then we are off to Mansfield to do Christmas with Dustin's side of the family.

Christmas morning Dustin and I are going to go over to my parent's house to open presents with them and eat breakfast. We will also eat Christmas lunch with them. This year my mom decided not to do the traditional meal of turkey & dressing. She is going to cook a brisket. I am really curious to see what Dustin got me this year because his wrapping job sure is interesting! I posted our family Christmas picture below. It was tough getting the dogs to sit still and surprisingly the very first picture we took was the best one out of all of them. Merry Christmas!!!

Rookie of the Year!

A couple of weeks ago the Colleyville Fire Department had their annual awards banquet. It was a lot of fun. We ate mexican food and then Rusty Greer (former outfielder for the Rangers) spoke. It was really interesting to hear his stories about playing pro baseball. After he was finished speaking they handed out the awards.

Dusitn has been with the department for a little over a year. He was up for Rookie of the year. There were 2 other guys that were also up for this award. Dustin won the award and I was so proud of him. I had to brag on him! I posted a few pictures of his award. It is a really nice award and it fits perfect in our office along with all the other fireman stuff.

Red Raiders!

I am so excited about the big game this Saturday! I am hoping the Red Raiders will pull off a win in Norman. My sister and her friends are coming in this weekend from Lubbock and will be headed to Norman on Saturday for the game. I almost had the chance to go with them but the tickets fell through. I will be at home cheering them on though! I will post some pictures soon!

Our Little Devils....

I thought I would post some pictures of our babies....aka Jax and Maribel. Most days they bring such joy to our lives. They are so cute and always love us no matter what. I am going some where with this I promise..

Today was an exception and I wanted to kill them both. Dustin was on shift today and I had to work as well so the dogs were home alone for about 10 hours. They are usually pretty good and leave stuff alone. We have a dog door so they are able to go in and out as they please. Today they were not so good....this is what they decided to today....

They decided to chew up our window sill in the front bedroom. This is the only room I leave open for them during the day because they like to look out the front window and watch the workers outside....our subdivision is still under construction. We just got finished fixing the blinds that they decided to chew up last week. I thought I had solved the problem and I started pulling the blinds all the way up so they could not reach them.

I guess they showed me because they decided to move on to the window sill. Our brand new house is being destroyed. I am so mad but there is no use getting on to them because they look at me like "what did I do?" I think they are going to start enjoying the nice outdoors all day long!

FUNDAY TUESDAY!...I stole this from Kendall's blog which was actually called Funday Monday but it's not Monday anymore....

What were you doing 10 years ago?

I was a freshman at Ryan High School in Denton. While I did have fun in high school you couldn't give me enough money to repeat it. It is definitely something I would not do again. I was a member of the Industrial Technology Club...sounds nerdy I know...but it was a lot of fun and our teacher was so awesome. I used to want to be an architect and we learned design and drawing. I was also member of student counsel. I was quiet and shy and didn't get involved in too much freshman year.

List 5 things on your "to do list" today?

1. Finish this pile of work on my desk
2. Work on my real estate class when I get home
3. Walk the dogs
4. Watch 90210 and Law & Order SVU
5. Clean up around the house

Favorite Snacks:

My weakness is anything sweet...my favorite is ice cream. I also like to snack on cereal, chips and cheese and crackers.

What would you do with an unlimited supply of money?

First I would buy some land and build the perfect house. Then I would pay off all of our debt (not that it is a whole lot) and then buy a new car. I might even buy 2 new cars! I would travel to Hawaii, Europe & Australia and probably go on a shopping spree. Since it is unlimited supply there is no need to save any but I would probably donate a lot to various charities like the Humane Society and Susan G. Koman.

Where have you lived?

I have lived in Denton almost all of my life. I did live in Lubbock for 2 years and in Mansfield for 1 year.

Where have you worked?

All through high school and most of my college years I worked at a local property management firm doing leasing, accounts payable , reports...pretty much everything. I did also work for a local architect for about a year. Now I work for LandAmerica American Title in Dallas as a Commercial Escrow Officer.

Our First Blog

I am new to this so bear with with me. My good friend Kelsie and her husband Drew came over for dinner tonight and she showed me this new website. As if I needed another website in addition to Myspace and Facebook. This looks cool so I thought I would give it a try!

A little about me, I was born and raised in Denton and I graduated from The University of North Texas. I recently got married to Dustin. He is from Mansfield and we dated 4 years before getting married. We were married on August 2, 2008 and we just built a new home in Lake Dallas. Married life is great! We have two Boxers who we absolutely adore! Jax is 2 1/2 years and we got him when he was 8 weeks old. Maribel is the new addition to our family. We rescued her from The Legacy Boxer Rescue. She is about 1 1/2 and full of energy. They love to play! They keep us busy.

I work for LandAmerica American Title in Dallas and Dustin is a firefighter/paramedic for the city of Colleyville. Life is busy between work and making our new home ours!
