1st Birthday!

I can't believe the big 1st Birthday party has already came and went. It was so much fun and I am still tired from the party. Grayson won't officially turn 1 until Saturday July 2 but I had his party a week early since his birthday falls on 4th of July weekend.

We started off the his party weekend on Saturday. My mom, Dustin and I took Grayson to Toys R Us for the first time. He had so much fun. He loved looking at and playing with all the toys.

Then we headed to Party City to get all the supplies I need for the party. After that we came home and Dustin and I baked cookies all afternoon. I also got the food ready for the party.

Sunday was the big day! I was so lucky that Grayson decided to take a long morning nap. The party was at 2 p.m. and I was so afraid he was not going to nap that morning and be dead tired by the party.

The party was at my parent's house. The food consisted of sandwiches, pasta salad, watermelon, pineapple, grapes, strawberries, chips and strawberry lemonade. I think Grayson's favorite item was the pasta salad. He loved it!

Smash cake and cupcakes. I got the cupcake stand off Etsy and I added the "dog" embellishments. The smash cake was from a local bakery and the cupcakes were from Sam's. I made the cupcake toppers.

We took some family pictures while we waited for guests to arrive. Please excuse the quality of the pictures. I totally suck at taking pictures. I really need to take a photography class just so I can learn some basics so I won't have such crappy pictures.

Grammy and Grumpy

Finally the guests started arriving.

Grayson with his buddies Cade and Brock

After the guests arrived and everyone ate Grayson I opened presents.

Dump truck

He wasn't too sure about the bear that sang Happy Birthday

Lawn mower....we are teaching him early. I kid...sort of. He loves this thing. I came home yesterday from work to Dustin racing him around the kitchen on his lawn mower....as in Grayson was sitting on the lawn mower and Dustin was racing him around the kitchen. Boys!

After presents it was time for cake!

What is that Mom?

Not too sure what to do...

Getting the hang of it...

I get it now Mom! He loved making a mess. He played with it more than he ate it.

After cake it was time to swim.

Then it was time for everyone to go home. Grayson was sad to see everyone leave.

It was such a special day. Grayson had a blast and was exhausted when the party was over. The party was a success. I wanted it to be low key and fun. I think we achieved that. We have more birthday celebrations happening this coming weekend for his actual birthday. I can't wait!

Less Than A Week Away!!!!

Can't believe my baby's 1st birthday party is less than a week away. I am sad and excited at the same time. Here is a sneak peak. I made the invitations myself. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out. If you know me, you know that I am the least creative person in the world. I always see cute ideas or get ideas in my head but they never turn out well.

I am sure you can guess from the invitation that the party is "puppy dog" themed. Grayson loves his furry brother and sister so much. He loves to play with them which made deciding on the theme of his party easy. Can't wait to share all about it next week!

My favorite! I think a canvas of this one will be hanging in our living room very soon!

I realize I am a little biased but is he not the cutest thing ever?

First Swim

Grayson went swimming for the first time yesterday! He loved every minute of it. He smiled and laughed the entire time. We had so much fun watching him laugh and have a good time.

My husband being a big whimp....didn't want to get in because it was cold. It was already 90 degrees outside. Grayson was ready though!

He loved sitting on the paddle board.

So sweet!

It was a fun day. Grayson was worn out and took a long nap. And just in case you haven't heard....the Mavs won the NBA Finals!!! Woohoo! Great way to end our weekend!

Mid Week Randoms

Happy Wednesday! So glad the week is half over. We have nothing planned for the weekend except go swimming and I am excited. I love low key weekends.

~It is so miserably hot here.

I sent this picture to Dustin yesterday and told him we were moving. I am thinking Alaska or Antartica sounds nice. I love flip flops, shorts, tanks and dresses just like any other girl but I can't take the heat. Honestly I prefer cold weather. I hate sweating and that is all I do in the summer.

~ My Facebook page has been blowing up about the Mavericks. If I ever want to know any breaking news all I need to do is check Facebook. I don't like basketball but I am happy the Mavericks are in the finals. I would love for them to beat the Heat!

~ Is this not the cutest picture? Grayson was having a blast playing with the dogs on Sunday. Jax rarely lets Grayson climb or lay on him. I was surprised they stayed put long enough for me to snap a picture with my phone.

~ It was Meredith's last day on The Today Show. I didn't get to watch this morning and usually never get to watch but I am sad that she is leaving. I wasn't her greatest fan or anything but I liked her.

~ Your probably sick of hearing about it, but Grayson's party is 2 weeks away! I am still putting stuff together but for the most part everything is done. I have the menu planned and everything. I am so excited. We aren't really going all out on presents this year. We wanted to get him a swing set but they are so expensive and he wouldn't really be able to enjoy yet anyways. I am thinking that will be next year's gift.  I am thinking of getting him a playhouse. Something similar to this one.

Mrs. Lisa, the lady that keeps him, has one and he loves it.

~ Since we are thinking of getting the above playhouse, I am in the process of converting our spare bedroom into a playroom. Our house is pretty small and we don't have a lot of room. The spare bedroom has basically been a storage room for the past year. I need to get rid of some stuff and put some more stuff in the attic. I figure we could use the room as a playroom for now. We were looking at buying a new home but after talking to some realtors there is no way we could sell our home for close to what we owe on it. For now we are stuck. Bummer!

~ I recently signed up for Swagbucks. I am still learning about it, but it seems like a really easy way to earn some free stuff. You can use your swagbucks for Amazon gift cards. I definitely need that since I am constantly buying books for my Kindle.

~ I watched some of The Voice last night. I haven't finished it yet, but Christina so gets on my nerves. She acts like a total diva, and maybe she is a diva, but she doesn't have to act like one. Don't even get me started on her outfits. Homegirl needs a makeover BAD! I love Blake Shelton though!

~ I am ready for 4th of July weekend!

Have a great week!

11 Months

I feel like Grayson was born just yesterday. I swear I blinked my eyes and he is now 11 months. If you want to make time speed up have a baby. It goes by faster than ever before.

Grayson is becoming more and more fun everyday. I love watching his little personality develop. He his king of temper tantrums and I can only imagine what the terrible two's are going to be like. I swear his main goal in life right now is to make sure that I never sit down and to drive me crazy. He loves banging his toys on the TV cabinet and turning the TV on and off. I am constantly getting onto him for both. He hates when I tell him No and most of the time he will look at me and smile. It is hard for me to remain stern because all I want to do is laugh. He is just so dang cute.

He loves to play with everything but his toys. I don't even know why we buy him toys. He loves playing in the pantry. He also loves playing with his Daddy. From rolling around on the floor, swinging up and down and upside down to rides on Daddy's shoulders. I love sitting back and watching. Melts my heart every time.

Finally after 11 long months I can finally say he is sleeping through the night. He sleeps any where from 10 to 12 hours and it is awesome. He will even go back to sleep after his bottle on the weekends. I am very grateful for this. Grayson loves to eat. He eats pretty much everything we eat. He has not had baby food from a jar in over a month. He loves to feed himself. I have to always make something that he can feed to himself. He will not let you feed him. One thing I am not looking forward to is weaning him from the bottle. The morning and night time bottle before bed is going to be the hardest.

He is into everything all the time and he loves putting his toys out the dog door and then crawling out to get them. We have to keep the dog door closed most of the time. I think he will be walking soon. We bought a little car for him that he can sit on or you can pull the top of it up and he can push it. He walks all around the house pushing that thing. He will also push the kitchen chairs around the kitchen.

I love this picture even though it is a little blurry. He loves for us to push him around the house on his fire truck. He is becoming more like a little boy every day. It makes me sad but happy at the same time.

His first birthday party is nearing 3 weeks away. I am having it a week early since his actual birthday is the weekend of July 4th. The invitations have been mailed and the cake has been ordered. I am so excited! I have a feeling I will be at Hobby Lobby every week getting last minute stuff.

Just so I can remember:
~You wear size 18 month clothes
~You wear a Size 4 diaper
~You wear a Size 4 shoe
~You have 9 teeth
~First words: Da Da (Daddy) and occasionally Momma
~You babble all the time
~You clap your hands

I love this guy more than anything and I am so excited to watch him grow and become a little boy.

TV News

So the word around Twitter is that Detective Stabler is leaving Law & Order SVU. I am so sad. I love this show and it just won't be the same.

And the most shocking of all.....Patrick Dempsy is leaving Grey's Anatomy after this coming season. The show will definitely not be the same.

I may just have to quit watching both shows. Sad day for TV. Yes, I realize I am pathetic. No need to tell me.
