Blogging Rut

I apologize for my lack of blogging. I guess you could say I am in a blogging rut. I either don't have anything to blog about or I am too tired or too busy to get a post up. I have received several comments about my lack of blogging, mainly from friends and family and I apologize.

This year I really wanted my blog to only be about me and my family and the events that were occurring in my life. I decided that I didn't want to do the random posts about shopping, television or celebrity news, not that there is anything wrong with that, I just wanted my blog to be about actual events in my life. I am in the process of making the first year of my blog into a book. The random posts I did about shopping or tv shows just don't seem to go with the purpose of the book. Hopefully I will finish the book before the end of this year. Ha!

I can't wait to make this year of blogging into a book. I don't scrapbook and I don't really make photo albums of all the pictures I take. My pictures just end up on my computer. Making my blog into a book is the best way for me to document everything. This year is very important because Grayson will be born. I realize the first half of this year (can you believe we are two months shy of being half way done with this year??) has been quite uneventful. I have mainly just blogged about my pregnancy. I want to remember it and I want to remember what I looked like. The second half of the year is going to be way more exciting and I just hope that I can find the time to document everything. I think having the books year after year will be so neat for my children and my great grandchildren to look back on.

So bare with me as I get through this blogging rut. I have a feeling that it will end soon. I have some exciting events coming up in May and June and of course nothing will beat July! If you are still reading my little ole blog, thank you. I promise I will be back to blogging soon!

28 Weeks

I am officially in my third trimester!  I was looking at a calendar yesterday and realized that in about 2 1/2 months Grayson will be here.  I still can't believe it! I still have so much to do.  I am getting more and more excited each day.  In a little less than a month I am having my maternity pictures taken and my baby shower.  I can't wait!

Here I am at 28 weeks.  I feel huge but everyone keeps telling me I look small for how far along I am.

I go to the doctor this week.  Hopefully she won't yell at me for any weight gain.  My appetite has slowed down and I am not as hungry as I have been.  Since my blood type is O negative I have to get a shot of Rogam in case Grayson's blood is positive.

I am still feeling pretty great.  My feet are starting to hurt a lot more lately.  Even when I am wearing flip flops they hurt.  Sleep is still okay.  My hips start hurting during the night and I become more and more uncomfortable.  My hips are always sore.  My back is starting to hurt a lot more too.  I'm not complaining though because I have had a really great pregnancy so far.

The nursery is slowly coming along.  Our biggest mission right now is to find a dresser.  I am looking for something inexpensive to match the crib.  We are going to Canton in May to see if we can find one.  Once I get the dresser I think everything else will fall into place.  My glider rocker came in this week and I love it.  It matches perfectly and it is so comfortable. I will share pictures of the nursery once it is complete.  I am trying to get it finished by May 22 which is when I am taking my maternity pictures.  I want to take a few pictures in the nursery.

I have a small wood cabinet that I have had since college.  My dad bought it unfinished and then stained it for me.  I am going to strip it and paint it.  Dustin and I went to Home Depot on Friday and got a few sample colors of paint.  We decided against painting the walls in the nursery though.  The walls are tan/beige and we think it looks really good with the crib and bedding. Plus I am sure we will change up his room once he out grows the crib and I didn't want to have to repaint.  I am kind of glad we don't have that task ahead of us.

Yesterday my mom and I went and she bought the stroller and car seat.  It is a Graco model and I found a pattern that I really liked.  Of all places I found it at Burlington Coat Factory.  I didn't even know they had a baby department.  They actually have a lot of baby stuff.  I think I am going to buy the matching pack n' play from there.

Grayson's closet if filling up.  I have a lot of washing to do before he gets here.  I have slowed down on buying clothes.  It is so hard to buy clothes because I don't know exactly how big he will be and I don't want to have the wrong sized clothes for the seasons.

He is moving more and more.  I usually feel him in the early mornings and in the evenings.  I love feeling him move and I just laugh when I see my stomach moving.  It is the greatest feeling!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.  Mine was great and went by way too fast.  I didn't have Good Friday off but I was lucky and left work at noon.  On my way home my check engine light came on.  Dustin was at work so I met my dad and he went with me to get it checked out.  I hate having to take care of anything related to my car by myself.  Probably because I am clueless when it comes to cars.  Turns out it was my thermostat in my car is broken.  They had to order the part and will put it in this week.  I can still drive my car in the mean time which is good.  After taking care of my car I went to lunch with my dad and then went to run some errands.

Saturday I ran some errands and did some shopping.  I got Grayson some really cute outfits from The Children's Place and they were all 50% off.  They were having a really good sale.  I met my mom and sister for lunch and then we headed to get pedicures.  Saturday afternoon Dustin and I made a trip to Home Depot and then came home and worked in the yard.  We planted flowers and put new mulch in our flower beds.  Dustin did most of the work but I did pull weeds and helped as much as I could.  The yards looks good, I just hope the flowers survive through the summer.  After working in the yard we were starving so we went to dinner at Villa Grande.  I love me some Mexican food!

After dinner my sister and her fiance Clark came over and brought their new Golden Retriever puppy Carly!

Isn't she precious! I just love puppies!

Today we went to church with my family.  Before we left Dustin and I tried to get a picture with the camera's self timer and here are the shots we got.

Maribel wouldn't leave us alone.

The second shot my eyes were closed.  We gave up because we were running late but we attempted to get a picture.

Tomorrow is my parent's 30th anniversary so we went out to eat tonight to celebrate.  We went to a yummy place called Cowtown Diner in downtown Ft. Worth.  It was fabulous!  It is an upscale diner with home cooked food.  I had chicken fried steak and it was so good.

My wonderful parents!

I am so thankful for my parents and am so happy that we got to celebrate their 30th with them.  God has truly blessed me and I hope that Dustin and I can be at least half the parents my parent's were to me.

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad! I love you so much!
