25 Week Update

Wow! I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since I last posted.  I have just been busy/lazy lately.  I have a few things to update you on.  This past Monday I went for my monthly check up and had my glucose test.  The drink really wasn't that bad at all.  It tasted like an orange soda.  It was just hard to drink it really fast. I don't think Grayson liked the drink because after I drank it and went back to the waiting room before seeing the doctor, he started moving and kicking like crazy.  I guess he was on a sugar high! They told me if I passed the test I wouldn't hear from them.  I still haven't heard from the doctor so hopefully I passed!

The doctor said everything looked good except my weight.  I gained another 8 pounds.  So not only do I feel HUGE, I feel like a failure.  I really didn't want to gain more than 2 or 3 pounds.  I am just always hungry...like I mean starving.  I will eat and 5 minutes later and I am hungry again.  It doesn't help that I don't always make the best choices in foods.  Dustin gets on to me all the time.  I get no sympathy from him. I am trying to make better choices even though they aren't satisfying or fill me up.  I have gained a total of 20 pounds.  20 pounds people!!  That means I have 40 pounds to loose after this baby because I had wanted to loose 20 pounds before getting pregnant.  I know that I am still going to gain more weight before this pregnancy is over.  So in reality I will probably have at least 50 or 60 pounds to loose after Grayson gets here. Yikes! I am already planning on doing Weight Watchers as soon as the doctor gives me the green light.  There is a local boot camp not far my house so I plan on signing up for that as soon as I can.

I did get some exciting news this past week!  The bedding is finished and is being shipped this week!  The lady who made it sent me a picture and I love it! I can't wait for it to get here.  Our office, which is becoming the nursery, is finally all cleaned out.  I am ready to start decorating.  Now if only I could get some creative juices flowing. 

Even more exciting news, Dustin finally got to feel Grayson move for the first time.  It was early in the morning, like 5:30 am, and we were both laying in bed ignoring our alarms.  Grayson was kicking up a storm and Dustin was finally able to feel him kick.  Lately it seems that Grayson knows Daddy is putting his hand on my stomach and he will stop kicking instantly.  Stubborn little fella!! He moves more and more every day. 

A few other things not related to me being pregnant, last weekend it was 70 degrees one day and it snowed the next.  Gotta love Texas weather!  This weekend has been gorgeous except for the wind.  I didn't really do much this weekend.  I did do a little shopping yesterday and bought a mattress for the crib. Today I went to my friend Kendall's baby shower! Her little boy Mason is due next month! She got lots of cute things!

I am already looking forward to next weekend.  Dustin and I plan on registering, it is Easter weekend and it is my parent's 30th wedding anniversary.  It should be a fun weekend!   

Birthday Weekend!

I don't know about yall but I had a fabulous weekend!  I did not want it to end.  Friday I left work at noon, headed to get my hair done, got my car washed and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  Friday night my family went out to eat for my birthday.  We went to a local Mexican food restaurant.

Saturday I slept in and then I met my mom and sister for lunch.  After lunch we went to order my birthday present.  I asked for a Glider Rocker for the nursery.  I went to pick it out and pick the fabric.  It should be here in 3-5 weeks.  Then we went to Babies R Us  and DSW.  My heels that I got last spring for work aren't going to work this spring/summer.  They hurt my feet so bad.  I was looking for some more comfortable shoes to wear to work.  I found a pair of cute wedges.  I wore them to work today and they were kind of comfortable but my feet started hurting this afternoon.  I had to buy a shoe size bigger than what I wore before I got pregnant.  I just read that my feet will probably get even bigger in the coming weeks.  Yuck! I am thinking my boss will just have to deal with flip flops every day.  My feet can't take it.

Saturday night Dustin and I went to eat at the Melting Pot.  It is a fondue restaurant.  It was good but the dessert was the best!  We got a chocolate marshmallow fondue with oreos.  We dipped strawberries, bananas, rice krispies, marshmallows, brownies, cheesecake and pound cake into the chocolate fondue.  It was so good! I completely forgot to take pictures at dinner.  I guess we were too busy stuffing our faces.

Sunday was a lazy day!  It was so nice here and we took advantage of the beautiful weather.  It was in the 70's and nothing but sunshine.  We took the dogs for a walk at the park and then did some stuff around the house.  Dustin grilled out Sunday night and we took it easy.  It was the perfect weekend!  I really wish I was enjoying Spring Break like a lot of you but I don't get a Spring Break anymore. Boo!

It's Not All About Me Anymore

Saturday is my 26th birthday and I just realized it isn't all about me anymore.  Yes, I am one of those people that gets all giddy about my birthday.  I'm not sure why because I am very shy and I hate being the center of attention.  But I love birthdays especially mine!

We celebrate birthdays at my office and today we celebrated mine!  I am taking off tomorrow afternoon so we celebrated today.  This is when I first realized my birthday isn't about me anymore.  Oh sure I got a yummy snickerdoodle cake but these are just a few of my presents that I got.

I also got a gift card to Babies R Us to buy things for Grayson.  Everything I got was for Grayson.  I wouldn't have it any other way though!

I have a pretty fun weekend in store.  I am getting my hair done tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night I am going out to eat with my family for dinner.  Saturday I have plans to do some shopping and then Dustin and I are going out to eat for dinner.  We plan on eating at the Melting Pot which is a fondue place.

22 Weeks

I can't believe I am already 22 weeks.  Time is flying by so fast and I am starting to feel overwhelmed.  I feel like there is so much to do.  I just keep thinking of things that I need or need to do.  I don't think my list can get any longer. On top of that I feel like I am forgetting things too.  I know that there is going to be something I forget I just hope it isn't something important.

Here I am at 22 weeks. I don't really feel like my belly has grown any, just other parts of my body.  My butt and legs feel huge.  Yesterday I went and tried on some spring maternity clothes and it was an awful experience.  For the first time ever, I think I am starting to get cankles.  It is not a pretty site.  I just don't feel attractive and I know that I am only going to get bigger. 

Other than feeling like a beached whale, I am feeling pretty great.  I can't wait to breathe again.  My nose is constantly congested and I can't breathe at night.  Some nights I sleep better than others.  I really wish I was able to take a nap in the afternoons.  Usually by 3 I am so tired and don't want to do anything. I loose my balance really easy.  I fell a week or two ago while trying to measure my curtains.  I had both feet on the floor and I still fell.  Luckily I fell on my back.  It was pretty sore for a few days.   

I still don't have any cravings really.  Here lately nothing sounds good but I am always starving.  My next appointment is on the 22nd and I have my glucose test. I am praying that the results are good.  I am not looking forward to drinking that nasty sugary drink though.

For the most part I am still enjoying my pregnancy and I can't wait to see what is ahead!     

A Few Things...

Sorry I have been MIA but I have been super busy and I decided not to do a weekend re-cap because honestly my weekend was very uneventful.  I was also lazy and didn't do a 21 week update.  Picture and update will come this weekend!

I am so excited it is March!  January and February are just boring to me and March means Spring is near!  It is supposed to be in the 60's all week and maybe the 70's by this wekend!  Finally...I am so tired of this cold and rainy weather.  March also means my Birthday!  Only 10 more days! Not excited about turning another year older but I love celebrating birthdays! 

Grayson's crib bedding is ordered!  Finally!  It was an ordeal and not an easy process for an uncreative person like me.  I found a lady on Etsy that does custom crib bedding for a really good price.  She was very easy to work with especially considering that I am probably the world's worst customer. Ha!  I changed my mind so many times I was probably driving her nuts.  Luckily we were able to create something that Dustin and I both like.  I can hardly wait for it to arrive.  Now that the bedding is done I have started looking for decorative ideas for the nursery.  Here is a sneak peak at a few ideas I have.

I'm sure all of you watched The Bachelor last night.  I knew he was going to pick Vienna so I was not surprised.  I can't believe he picked her.  Maybe she really is a different person than who we saw on TV.  Who knows.  I don't think they will last though.  I am very excited to watch Jason and Molly's wedding next Monday night!

20 Week Appointment

We went for our 20 week appointment today!  Every thing looks good and is progressing like it should.  I love getting to see our sweet little one.  We got to see lots today!  It is official we are having a......

It's a Boy!

I was pretty confident going into the appointment that we were having a boy.  It was really nice to get that confirmation.  I can officially begin planning the nursery.  Finally!

Grayson weighs 15 ounces and is in the 59th percentile. 

I got in trouble by the doctor today.  I gained 10 pounds in 5 weeks.  Yikes! I have only gained a total of 14 pounds so far but I still have half my pregnancy to go.  I can't gain another 10 between now and my next appointment.  I am just constantly hungry and I have never been one to eat vegetables and fruits.  Hopefully I can keep the weight gain under control throughout the next 20 weeks. 

I am having the hardest time getting comfortable at night and honestly I am just miserable.  I haven't slept well in a while.  Other than that everything is going great!  I am so blessed to be experiencing this miracle!

Fun Weekend!

This was a really fun weekend!  Friday night I just relaxed after getting off work.  Dustin was at work and I went to bed early.  Saturday I slept in and then did some things around the house.  Later in the afternoon Dustin and I ran some errands.  Then we came home and got ready for dinner with some friends in Ft. Worth.

My college roommate Angela and her husband live in Ft. Worth and we met up with them at this restaurant called Buttons.  It is soul food and boy was it good!  We had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for a table it was so crowded.  They have live music on the weekends and the band that was playing was their most popular band.  I have to say the food was worth the wait.  All of us had chicken and waffles for dinner.  That is some soul food!  It was to die for!  The waffles are injected with cinnamon butter.  The fried chicken and mac and cheese didn't disappoint.  Here is a picture of my plate before I ate the entire thing.

We were going to go bowling after dinner but it was so late when we got through eating we decided to call it a night.  I haven't seen Angela since her wedding last May so it was fun to catch up with her.  They just moved into a house in Ft. Worth and their new neighbor is the lead guitarist for Pat Green.  I thought that was pretty cool. 

This morning Dustin and I were very lazy...probably because we were still stuffed from the night before.  We slept until 10.  I haven't done that in forever.  I couldn't believe the time when I woke up.  Then I got ready for one of my long time friend's bridal shower.  Her name is April and she is getting married in April.

April and I have known each other since kindergarten and we lived together some during college.  She got lots of great gifts and there was lots of yummy food.  We had ice cream sundaes for desert!  I had so much fun at her shower.  There were about 8 of us there that grew up together.  We had so much fun laughing and sharing stories.  Even the high school year books were brought out.  Oh man was that interesting!
