Wishful Wednesday - Pets

I wish my pets could talk because I have been dying to know why they act like fools when other dogs are around.

It is hard to imagine them acting anything other than sweet and cute after looking at the above picture. Any time there is another dog around, Maribel get jealous that Jax is paying attention to another dog and she jumps on him and they start fighting. I so wish they could talk so I could hear what they are thinking. It is so embarrassing to take them walking. If we run into another dog on the street they immediately start fighting. I wouldn't say it is viscous fighting though. It is a lot of growling and in each other's faces. They also play like this too but not as aggressive. I would say most people in our neighborhood are scared of our dogs and they couldn't harm a fly.

I would just love to know what they think when they are walking, playing or begging for food. They constantly crack me up. Maribel is also obsessed with Dustin. When I come home from work and try to talk to him she sits between us and growls at Dustin any time he trys to talk to me. I would definitely love to know what she is thinking. If only dogs could talk.....

If you want to play along head over to The Seattle's Smiths.

Monday

Another Monday. I don't have much for my weekend re-cap. I did not feel good all weekend. Friday night Dustin was working so I came home and relaxed after work. I was really tired and didn't feel well. I went to bed pretty early.

Saturday I went and got my hair done and then came home and took it easy. Saturday night we were supposed to go to Dustin's best friend's bachelor party but he got stuck with mandatory overtime at work so he had to miss it. I was pretty bummed for him. His best friend Matt is getting married this Saturday and he and his fiance were having their bachelor/bachelorette party this past weekend at Pete's Piano Bar. Since Dustin had to work and I didn't feel well we didn't get to go. Bummer. I did watch some of the Texas Tech game against Houston on Saturday night. It looked good at half time but when I woke up Sunday morning and saw the score I was bummed. They lost by one point.

Sunday we had a busy day. I tried to sleep in but was up by 8. I couldn't breathe because I am all stopped up. Sunday afternoon we went to a surprise party for my co-worker/friend Stephanie. Her husband turned 40 this weekend. It was fun. He is also firefighter and his cake was too cool!

After we left there we headed to celebrate my grandmother's birthday with my family. I didn't take any pictures. I felt awful and I looked awful I am sure so I wasn't in a picture taking mood. I didn't get to watch Desperate Housewives or Brothers & Sisters last night. I plan on watching them tonight.

I hope you all had a good weekend. I hope this week goes by fast.

Happy Friday!

I am so glad it is Friday! It has been a long week and I am glad it is over. The past 2 nights Dustin and I have slept with the windows open and it was fantastic! Our room was so cold and I loved it. I think even the dogs were cold because they sure were quite the cuddlers the past 2 nights. The weather is supposed to be warming up so it might be a while before we get to sleep with the windows open again.

The dogs broke their dog door again. We have an electronic dog door and the door is plastic. They bolt through it at lightening speed and they keep breaking it. We are going to have to get a new kind of door. Does anyone who has a dog door have any recommendations? I think we are going to have to get one that has the soft plastic flap (kind of like a mud flap on a truck) instead of the hard plastic. We sure do love having that dog door though and we need to get it fixed soon. It makes it so much easier when we are at work knowing they aren't stuck inside for hours not being able to go out. We are lucky and that neither one of them tear up the house.

We have another busy weekend ahead. Tomorrow we have a bachelor/bachelorette party for Dustin's friend Matt. Dustin is the best man in his wedding on October 3. Sunday we have a surprise birthday party for my co-worker / friend's husband who is turning 40. Then that evening we have another birthday celebration for my grandmother.

Nothing too exciting going on in our household. I am ready for this cooler weather to stick around permanently for a while. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Thankful

I am pretty busy at work today but I wanted to write a quick post because I had a few things on my mind. Today has not been a good day for me so far and I was crying on the way to work. I got to work and just read Kelly's blog and it really put my problem in perspective. She wrote about a family who just had a baby and while the mom was pregnant she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After she gave birth to the baby she started seizing. She was put on life support and she passed away.

I can't even imagine what her husband is going through. I have so much to be thankful for and my problem doesn't even compare. I am healthy and I have a wonderful husband and family. I also know God is watching is over me. I just pray that God will be this family as they grieve and just love on their little baby girl. They really need him right now and they could also use your prayers.

Seriously?

Who's bright idea was it to bring back 80's fashion? I don't know much about fashion but I think the fashion trends of the 80's are ones that should not be revived. They are just hideous and I don't know why anyone would want to dress like that unless maybe for a costume party.

I was watching E-News tonight and they were talking about how 80's fashion is a big hit right now. They are even making the military style jacket (minus the shoulder pads) inspired by Michael Jackson. Honestly, who would want to wear something like that? I hope I don't offend anyone who likes this new craze in fashion. It just isn't for me, but again what do I know about fashion.

Just walk through the junior department at Dillard's and it looks like 80's prom threw up in there. Yuck! I just had to rant about this. It just baffles me.

Exhausting Weekend

Whew! I had such an exhausting weekend. I am so tired today and I will be going to bed early.

Friday night we went out to eat to celebrate my sister's 21st birthday. She turned 21 yesterday. We ate Mexican food. Yum!

The birthday girl and her boyfriend Clark.

Sisters, even though we don't like it.

My sister opening presents. I am so jealous. Clark gave her tickets to the Taylor Swift concert this Friday. No fair!

Saturday was not too busy. I went to lunch with my mom, sister and Clark. Then my mom and I went shopping. Then I came home and watched the Tech vs. Texas game. I am sad to say that the Red Raiders lost but we sure played hard. I was afraid the game might be an embarrassment but Tech has a lot better of a team this year than I thought. I am excited for the rest of the season.

Sunday Dustin got home from work and we had lots to do around the house. I walked the dogs while he washed his truck. Then the dogs and I helped him wash my car.

Okay well the dogs didn't help much. All they wanted to do was drink the water out of the water hose. Then Dustin mowed the yard while I pulled weeds out of the flower beds. Needless to say it was not a very fun morning. Then we went to the grocery store and then came home to relax a little before leaving for the Cowboy game.

We really didn't tail gate before the game. We got lucky and one of the couples that we went to the game with has a family friend that lives close to the stadium. We were able to park in their driveway so we didn't have to pay to park. The stadium is as big as everyone says it is. It is huge.

Here is our group before heading over to the stadium. Dustin and I are on the far left.

Here is the gigantic stadium.

Please excuse the way I look in this picture. It was pretty hot before the sun went down.

I bet you can't guess who took this picture?

We had a good time at the game. We were among the 30,000 people who didn't have seats. We bought the party passes because honestly who can afford a regular seat? We couldn't see the field at all from where we were. We had to watch it on the big screen you see above. The field is underground. When you walk in the stadium at ground level the field is way below you. There were way too many people for me.

I did enjoy the half time show when the unveiled the ring of legends. Lots of old Cowboy players were there like Randy White, Tom Landry, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin. Like I said, I had fun but I would have been just fine staying at home and watching it on my TV. We would have saved lots of money too!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Very Exciting Weekend

So glad today is Friday! It has been raining here for a week straight. I am so ready to see the sun. It isn't supposed to rain this weekend thank goodness. I have a very exciting weekend ahead!

Tonight we are celebrating my sister's 21st birthday! She turns 21 on Sunday. We are going out to eat. I can't believe my baby sister is turning 21. Time sure does fly by.

Saturday is also a very exciting day. Texas Tech and Texas are playing Saturday night. This is a huge Big 12 rival game. I am very excited for this game. I will be cheering on the Red Raiders!!!

Sunday we are going to the Cowboy's game at the new stadium. I have never been to a Cowboy's game before and I am excited to see the new stadium. We have a pretty busy weekend ahead and I will be sure to take lots of pictures to share.

Does anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? I hope you all enjoy your weekend!
