Another Snow Day
Luckily it isn't a repeat of last week. I think we will be back at school tomorrow. As always it was nice to have the day off. I really didn't want to get out in the bitter cold so I was glad they called school off. We got some ice and a little bit of snow this morning but most of it has melted.
Grayson and I snuggled up in bed this morning. Dustin came home from the fire station and then headed out to his other job. I was so wishing he didn't have to work today too and could have stayed home with us. We sure do miss him around here.
Grayson loves his Daddy. This is one of their favorite things to do. Grayson sits on his chest and they talk to each other. Although it ends up like this most of the time.
Dustin is either getting his eyes poked at or Grayson tries to bite his nose. It is so funny!
I am happy to report that Grayson is feeling much better. He has been the happiest boy all day long. I am studying for my high school math certification and I felt like one of the moms on Teen Mom today. It is so hard to study with a baby. Ha! Thankfully Grayson took two naps today so I was able to get a little studying done. Grayson even wanted to help me study.
It has been a lazy day and I am glad tomorrow is Thursday. The week is almost over! Looking forward to this weekend!

Sick Baby= No Fun
As if I didn't already have cabin fever from being stuck inside from the huge ice/snow storm that hit DFW this week, Grayson is sick and I still haven't been out of the house all weekend. The only place I went was to the doctor on Saturday morning and I had to drive on the ice all by myself. I am happy to say we made it there in one piece. Oh the life of a being a fireman's wife. I was so wishing Dustin wasn't working as I was sliding around the icy curve yesterday morning. My knuckles were as white as could be and I was griping the steering wheel like nobody's business. I hate driving on ice and to make it worse Grayson's doctor wasn't on call. We had to go to a different office for the doctor that was on call and I had to take some back roads to get there and they were ICY.
Grayson has the same sinus/viral infection as the last two times. This time was far worse. My poor baby has been throwing up, has a nasty cough, an endless amount of snot and a fever. To top it off he is teething. Two teeth came in on the top earlier this week but one is still trying to come in. I saw a few on the bottom that look like they want to come in also. He can't catch a break. I was up with him just about every hour last night and we were both miserable. Him more so than me. He would just whimper and cry. It broke my heart and I will admit I cried for him. I felt so helpless and I knew he was in pain. I can't wait for the day that he can just tell me where it hurts.
I think we are on the downhill side of things. He seemed to feel better today. I captured some cute pictures of him. Sorry for the blurriness. They were taken with my phone.
This morning I brought Grayson into bed with me and we watched cartoons. Jax was not happy that Grayson took his spot in bed.
Dustin worked overtime today and I am having a super bowl party all by myself. Not really, I don't really care about the super bowl all that much. I do hope the Packers win though. I can't stand Ben Rothlisberger (sp?) or the Steelers. I am looking forward to work tomorrow so I can get out of the house and get back to a routine. I haven't put on make-up since last Monday so it will be nice to feel like myself again.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am already looking forward to next weekend. Not because it's Valentine's Day but because Dustin and I have a date. First one in 7 months. He has Saturday and Sunday off so we are going to take advantage. I am thinking dinner and a movie. I want to see that new movie with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler....I forget the name of it. I love Adam Sandler and Dustin worships loves Jennifer Aniston. Only thing I'm not looking forward to is all the crowds because of Valentine's Day.

Snow Day # 4
Tomorrow will be snow day # 4 for me and I am about to loose my mind! We are supposed to get more snow in the morning. I groan every time I watch the weather. I saw this going around on Facebook and I had to share.
I thought it was a pretty accurate depiction of how I feel right about now. Ha! I wanted to get out today because the major roads are some what ok to drive on but I don't want to get Grayson out in this cold of weather. I may make Dustin drive me to Wal-Mart or Target tomorrow so I can get out for a little bit. I am anxiously awaiting Saturday when the high is supposed to be 40 degrees.
Spring weather where are you?

1 Month
I haven 't blogged in over a month. Wow! Didn't realize it had been that long. I don't even know if anyone still reads this thing or not. Ha! Honestly I just haven't had the motivation to blog. I sat down a couple of times over the last month with intentions of writing a post but I never followed through. I get home from work and I spend all my time with Grayson and then I usually hit the hay after he goes to bed.
Not much has been going on in our household. The new job is going great. I am learning a lot and I can't wait to have my own classroom one day. Not the best time to be trying for a teaching job in Texas though. With all the budget cuts for education there are going to be a lot more teachers without jobs. It is really sad but it is what it is. I am also loving not having to commute and more time with Grayson.
We have been covered in ice since early Tuesday morning. Tomorrow will be day 3 of no school. I haven't been outside since I got home from work on Monday. I am going crazy and I am bored out of my mind. They way things are looking, it will probably be Saturday before we can get out of the house. Ugh! There is only so much TV and internet one person can handle. I have enjoyed being cooped up with Grayson though!
The kid cracks me up. We were watching American Idol tonight and he was glued to the TV. Whenever someone started singing he stopped what he was doing, was as still as he could be, and he watched intently. It was so funny!
Has anyone been watching American Idol this season? I have missed a few episodes but I am loving it so far. After last season I swore I wasn't going to watch anymore. I had lost interest in the show and I wasn't too interested since Simon was leaving. I am loving the judges this season and I think it might be the best yet.
In other news, Grayson is 7 months old today. I can't believe it. In 5 short months he will be 1 year old. Crazy! Something else that is crazy, I have already started planning his 1st birthday party. Like I have the theme, style of invitations, food, decorations...practically everything planned and picked out. I am sure some things will change but for the most part I have it planned. To say I am excited would be an understatement.
Grayson has 3 teeth and 3 more are coming in. It has been a rough week but we are hanging in there. I hate teething! He still isn't crawling but he is close. He also isn't sitting up and I try to work with him some but he isn't interested. Most of the time I can't even get him into a sitting position because he stiffens up and arches his back. He wants to be on his tummy so I guess I will let him be. I am sure he will sit up in time although I would like for it to be sooner rather than later. It is so hard to take decent pictures of him when he can't sit up. Speaking of pictures, I don't really have any recent ones of him. I know, I am a bad mother. I have a few random ones on my phone but I haven't taken my camera out of it's case since Christmas. Ok I lied, I did snap a picture of Grayson a few weeks ago when we had our first snow of the year.
How cute is he? Pretty darn cute if I say so myself. He wasn't too sure of the snow. We were outside less than 5 minutes but I just had to get a quick picture of him in his first snow.
I am so ready for spring and warmer weather. My sister is getting married in May and I am hosting one of her bridal showers at my house on March 5. I am pretty excited about all the wedding festivities coming up.
That is all I have for now. Hopefully I will be back soon. I will try and stay motivated. I guess I am back to surfing the TV guide for some entertainment. I am so bored! Have a good week and stay warm!

2010 in Review
2010 was the best year yet! I am sure you all can't imagine why. Ha! Here is my year in review.
In January I entered into my second trimester of pregnancy and in February we found out for sure that we were having a BOY!
In March I turned 26. I can't believe that in just 2 1/2 months I will be 27.
In April we celebrated my parent's 30th Wedding Anniversary. We went to dinner in downtown Ft. Worth.
In May I had my baby shower hosted by my sister and best friends. It was so much fun!
That is our year in review! I can't wait for the new year and to see what it has in store for me. I am so very blessed and thankful for everything that God has done in my life. Bring on the New Year!
July was by far the best month out of the entire year! Grayson was born July 2 weighing 10 Ibs. 8 ounces.
August 30 was the worst day of my life. It was the day I had to go back to work. It was tough and I cried every day for the first week. Okay I'll be honest I probably cried longer than that.
Grayson celebrated his first Halloween in October....
his first Thanksgiving in November and his first Christmas in December.
I also got a new job in December!
That is our year in review! I can't wait for the new year and to see what it has in store for me. I am so very blessed and thankful for everything that God has done in my life. Bring on the New Year!

First Christmas 2010
Can't believe Christmas has already came and went. All the planning and preparing and it is over in the blink of an eye. We had a wonderful Christmas and this was the best Christmas ever! I could cry just thinking about it. I am so thankful for our sweet little boy and my heart is filled with joy. I am so very blessed.
Grayson is one spoiled little boy! It never got old opening present after present for him. We mostly celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve this year. Friday morning we got up ate cinnamon rolls and showed Grayson the toys that Santa brought.
The toys that Santa brought. He wasn't quite sure what to do with them. I didn't get any pictures of him checking out his toys but I got it all on video. I will have to work on getting it uploaded. When I was trying to show him his books he kept trying to push them closed. I guess he wasn't in the reading mood. He is such a silly boy.
Grayson in his Christmas jammies.
Dustin's family came over for lunch and to open presents. Dustin made King Ranch Casserole and we had rice and beans. It was so good! We only bought for the kids this year. There are 8 kids to buy for so we just decided this year the adults didn't need anything.
Our nephew Isaac messing with one of his toys.
He was one tired little boy but he stayed awake through it all. He didn't want to miss out on any presents.
The greatest present ever! He rolled himself under the Christmas tree. He rolls everywhere now.
After we finished up with Dustin's family we headed over to my parent's house to celebrate with my family. We tamales for dinner and then opened presents.
Grayson got a Radio Flyer red wagon from his Grammy and Grumpy. I can't wait until he starts sitting up so he can ride in it.
Grayson also got a Tickle Me Elmo from Grammy and Grumpy. They are retiring the Tickle Me Elmo after this year. He loved it! He would watch Elmo and laugh.
Grayson and his Uncle C
After we opened presents we all went to church for the Christmas Eve candle light service. Dustin and I made it almost through the entire service but we ended up leaving early. Grayson was asleep the first half but then woke up and decided he wanted to chit chat. He would not be quiet so we decided to head home. I missed my favorite part but at least I got to go. Once we got home I thought Grayson would go right to bed because he barely napped all day but he was wound up until about 10 o'clock. He finally went to sleep and so did we.
Christmas morning Grayson gave me a little present. He let me sleep until 9:30! After we got up and got ready Grayson and I headed over to my parent's house to eat lunch. Dustin had to work and we missed him a lot.
We had a wonderful Christmas and we hope that you did too!
