3 Months

I am a little late in posting this, but Grayson you turned 3 months on Saturday October 2! I can't believe it!  You are so much fun these days.  You talk all the time.  You love to talk to me when I am changing your diaper or clothes.  You crack me up and I love you so much.

You pretty much smile at everyone these days.  It doesn't take much to get you to smile.  You love to sit and talk to your daddy.  You can hold your head up very well and you sit great in the Bumbo seat.  I love that you can sit in it because mommy can have free hands to get some things done around the house.

You still hate tummy time and only last a few minutes on your tummy.  When you are on your tummy you scoot all over the place.  I think you might be an early crawler.  You have also started rolling from your tummy to your back.  I was very excited the first time you did it.  During tummy time you like to look at yourself in the mirror.

Who's that cute baby?
You still love bath time.  You smile so big when I put you in the tub.  The dogs love bath time too.  They want to be in the bathroom when you are getting a bath and they love to lick the water and your hands and feet.

You aren't doing so great in the sleeping department but that's okay.  You are now getting up 2 to 3 times a night.  I don't know what happened but I hope you go back to once a night soon.  You are such a little booger at bed time.  You fight your sleep and scream and cry.  We usually have to dance around to get you to calm down.  Eventually you wear yourself out and go to sleep.  There have been a few times that I was able to put you in your crib and you will go to sleep on your own. You have been waking up between 5:30 and 6 for weeks now.  It makes it hard for mommy to get ready for work in the morning but you love to lay in mommy's bed and watch TV.

Speaking of the TV you love it.  We play cartoons for you and you eat it up.  You also grab at toys.  Just the other day you figured out how to make your frog play music on your bouncy seat.  You played the music over and over and over.

Some days you aren't interested in eating at all and other days you are a little piggy.  You usually eat 5-6 ounces.  You wear 6 month clothes and I am afraid they are going to be too small for you by the end of the year.  You wear a size 3 diaper.

Sitting in your high chair at Grammie and Grumpy's house.  You sat in it and watched the Rangers beat the Yankees while mommy ate dinner.

I can't wait to find out how much you weight at your doctor's appointment next month.  You are such a joy in my life and I thank God every day for you.  You truly are a blessing.  Mommy and Daddy love you so much.

Pity Party

Today I feel like having a pity party for myself.

- My house is extremely dirty. It hasn't been cleaned in months. Sure I vacuum here and there and do laundry (it usually gets folded a week later) but as for truly cleaning my house I never have time.

- I hate that I am working and not at home with my little man. The only time I get to spend with him is in the evenings and he usually spends most of that time fussing because he is tired. He is usually asleep by 8:30 so my 2 1/2 hours with him everyday goes by way to quick.

- I am tired. Grayson's sleeping habits have changed and he is up at least 2 times during the night and often is wide a wake at 5am.

- I have been in shopping mode for months but can't buy anything. We really need to be saving money right now. It is taking a lot of will power right now not to go shopping.

- I still have yet to get all our hospital bills paid from Grayson's birth. Every time I look at it, I toss it aside. The insurance stuff is too complicated for me.

- I am sad that my husband has to work Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day this year. Not fair!

- I feel so unorganized and totally not myself these days.

- I am trying to be patient and let God take control. I have been trying to make a few changes in my personal life and they aren't happening as quickly as I would like. A year and half later I am still waiting. I know God has a plan for me I am just waiting for him to show it to me.

Okay, my pity party is over.  Please understand that I know I am truly blessed but every now and then I can't help but feel sorry for myself.   Besides, when I get home at the end of the day and Grayson looks at me and smiles I usually forget about all of the above. Does anyone else ever throw a pity party for themselves?

Terrible Blogger

I have been such a horrible blogger lately!  Partly because I am so tired and I just don't have time.  Working and raising a baby is hard work!  I still have yet to post Grayson's 3 month post.  Hopefully I will get that up this week.

I really haven't been up to much lately.  I go to work and come home and spend time with my baby boy! I have been busy planning 2 baby showers though! Two of my very best friends are due on the same day....December 12.  Last weekend we had Kelsie's Baby Shower for her little boy Brock.  She is doing the nursery in sock monkeys so the shower was naturally sock monkey themed.  It turned out so cute!!!

This was the center piece in the center of the room where Kelsie opened presents.  So cute!!

Cupcakes! Kelsie's sister in law made the cute sock monkey toppers.

The hostesses with soon to be momma Kelsie.  Look at the adorable aprons that Kelsie made us!  So cute! Sadly mine will probably not get worn very much.  If you have read my blog before you know that I hate cooking.  I did bring it home and show it to Dustin but I don't think he liked the idea of wearing it while he cooked.  Maybe it will grow on him! Ha!  It is just too cute not to get worn.

This weekend was pretty laid back.  Yesterday Dustin and I went to see his parents.  We spent the day with them and it was good to see them.  Today we took it easy and went to the grocery store.  Sounds like an exciting weekend huh?  We are watching the Cowboy game and fixing to eat some taco soup. Yum!  I am so ready for it to get cool again.

*Love*

I am in love with

Boots! I bought these from Shoe Dazzle the other day and I can't wait for them to arrive.  I also bought a pair of really cute black ones.

Infinit Scarf
Love these! I never know what to do with the ends of a scarf.  I am not good at knotting a scarf.  It was like they invented these for scarf challenged people like myself.

Leggings
So comfortable!

Of course I can't wear any of these things because it is still 90 degrees here. Sure wish the fall weather would hurry up and get here.

I always love this little guy!

Weekend

Not much going on in our household which is why the blog has not been updated.  Just not much to blog about. I go to work, come home and spend every minute I can with Grayson and go to bed.  I repeat that 5 times a week.  This week was pretty exciting though!

On Thursday Dustin finished taking his promotion tests at work.  He passed!  In the fire department they have positions such as Batallion Chief, Lieutenant, and Driver.  Where Dustin works, since they are a small department, they just decided to create driver positions.  Up until now anyone on shift would drive the engine.  There were 9 spots and 13 people tested for the positions.  Only 6 guys passed the tests and Dustin was one of the 6!  We are so very proud of him.  His new position takes effect October 1.

Friday Dustin worked and Grayson and I went to bed early.  I think I was in bed and asleep by 9:30.  I also think Grayson is going through a growth spurt because he has slept a lot over the past few days.  He slept through the night on Thursday and I was so happy.  He also slept through the night last night.  When I say sleep through the night, I mean he goes to bed about 9 and sleeps until about 5:30 or 6.  That is really good for him.  I feed him and he goes right back to sleep until I wake him up to take him to day care.

Saturday morning we relaxed and then went and had lunch at Freebirds.  It is a yummy burrito place similar to Chipotle but way better.  After that we ran a few errands and then came home and cleaned up the house.  Saturday night we went to my parent's house to celebrate my sister's birthday and watch the Texas vs. Texas Tech game.  My entire family are Red Raider fans.  My sister and I both went to Tech (although we did not graduate from there) and my sister's fiance Clark graduated from there.  My husband and my uncle Scott are Longhorn fans.  It was a lot of fun watching the game.  I am sad that my Red Raiders lost though.  Grayson was very sad too.

Last night was a pretty big night for Grayson and I.  We officially moved Grayson to his room.  He is now sleeping in his own room.  It was a success!  I hope tonight will be too.  When Dustin and I got in bed I told him I felt like something was missing.  I had the monitor right beside the bed.  It took me a while to fall asleep at first.  I kept checking on him on the monitor.  I finally fell asleep and didn't hear a peep out of him until 5:30 this morning.  Grayson is becoming such a big boy and it makes me sad.  I can't believe how fast he is growing.  Before I know it he will be off to kindergarten.

Today we are taking it easy and watching the Cowboy game. GO COWBOYS! Hopefully they won't disappoint like last week.  I need to finish laundry and make a trip to the grocery store.

I am so excited about all the TV shows returning this week.  Finally!

9 Years

I can't believe today has been 9 years.  I have been reading every one's stories about where they were on that awful day.  I thought I would share mine as well.  I don't think anyone will ever forget where they were and what they were doing on the most tragic day in America's history.

I was a senior in high school and I had just gotten out of my early economics class.  As I entered the hallway to head to my first period class everyone was talking about a plane flying into the World Trade Center.  At that point nothing had been confirmed and everyone was still confused about what was going on.  Knowing my Dad was still at home before heading to work I called him and he confirmed that a second plane had just hit the second tower.

In my first period class our teacher turned on the news and we all watched in horror as our country was under attack.  We watched the news in every single class that day.  I couldn't take my eyes off the TV.  I couldn't believe the horror that was taking place before my eyes.  My heart went out to all the victims who lost their lives.  That evening my family attended a church service that was held at our church.  I just remember feeling numb and still in shock.

When Dustin and I visited NYC last summer the most memorable part of the trip was visiting the 9/11 memorial near where the WTC stood.  Visiting the memorial and seeing the events that took place right where I was standing was so surreal.

My heart still goes out to all who lost their lives that day and to all the military troops fighting for our country.

God Bless America.
