Maternity Pictures

I got the rest of the maternity pictures in today!  They turned out really great except our smiles in some of them were a little off.  She got some really great shots.  We took some of the pictures at our house.  The photographer, Amy Barry, set up a back drop in our living room and we also took some in the nursery and a near by park.

Baby Shower

This past Sunday was my baby shower!  I was so excited and I had so much fun! I couldn't believe all the stuff Grayson got.  My sister Nadalee and my friends Kelsie, April and Jennifer hosted my shower.  I have such wonderful friends and they did such a great job planning everything.

I am sure you are on picture overload now.  I had so much fun at the shower.  I got a lot of great things and I am so overwhelmed with trying to figure out where to put everything.  I have tons of clothes to wash now.  I have everything sorted in the nursery and now I just need to find a place for everything. 

I will try and get pictures up of the nursery this week.  I am so ready for Grayson to get here already!

33 Weeks

I can officially say I am miserable.  I don't sleep well, my back hurts all the time, I can't get up and down without something cracking or poping and my feet are so swollen.  July cannot get here fast enough.  This is by far the worst part of my pregnancy.  I am even more tired now than I was in the first trimester. 

My belly is huge!

I went to the doctor this past Wednesday.  She said everything looked great except my weight.  I didn't even ask her how much I gained.  I think I have actually been eating a lot less because I am not near as hungry as I was during the second trimester.  I really think a lot of my weight gain is water weight.  My feet and ankles are so swollen.  I can't wear half my shoes because my feet are so large.  My doctor said my blood pressure looked great so she wasn't worried about the swelling. She did say Grayson was already head down.  I believe it because I feel most of the movement in my upper belly near my ribs.

I have to go to the doctor every two weeks now.  At 36 weeks she will start checking me for labor signs and I will go every week.  Dustin and I went and picked up the registration packet at the hospital this week too.  It really made it feel more real going to the hospital.  I had to fill out a bunch of information.  I want to be pre-registered so when I do go into labor I don't have to deal with all the paper work. 

It is officially HOT here in Texas.  The temperature is in the 90's most days.  I find myself having hot flashes more frequently and I sweat more easily.  I am so glad I only have to get through June.  I don't think I would make it being pregnant the entire summer. Ha!

The nursery is pretty much done.  I still need a few more decorative items for the cabinet but it came together really nice.  It isn't anything you would see in a magazine but I am proud of myself.  Dustin put everything together, painted and hung everything.  I can barely stand longer than 5 minutes without something starting to hurt so I am thankful he was here to do it for me.  I will be posting pictures soon of the final product!

I had my maternity pictures taken yesterday.  As soon as I get the pictures I will post them.  I think we got some really cute pictures and I can't wait to see them.  This afternoon is my baby shower!!  I am so excited!  I will post pictures of that too. 

Grayson is going to be here before we know it! I can't wait!

Randomness

I know this is a little late but Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and moms-to-be.  It was so weird being told Happy Mother's Day on Sunday.  I will admit that I liked the sound of it.  I can't wait for my first Mother's Day with Grayson. 

We had a great weekend.  Saturday Dustin and I went to visit his mom and took her out to eat at Chuy's.  I love Mexican food! Yum!  It was so nice here on Saturday.  The high was in the 70's and sunshine.  On Sunday Dustin had to work so I went to church with my family and then out to eat for lunch.  My parent's came over to my house that afternoon and then we all went and got frozen yogurt.  It was a laid back weekend. Sadly I didn't get any pictures.

I honestly can't believe how fast time is flying by.  We are already half way done with May.  I am so excited for my maternity pictures and baby shower next weekend!  I still have no idea what I am going to wear for my pictures.  Nothing looks good on me.  I went to Target today during lunch to try on some maxi dresses.  I thought it would be cute to wear one to my baby shower.  WRONG!  I looked like I was wearing a MooMoo.  It was awful!  The ones I tried on were not maternity but even if they were maternity they still wouldn't have worked. 

The nursery is so close to being complete.  Dustin has to paint a few items this week and then I can hang everything on the wall.  I can't wait to share the finished product with you all.  When Grayson gets here I am not going to want him to use his own room so it doesn't get messed up. Ha! 

On Monday night I traded in my 4 door car for a new "mom" car.  That's right I got a brand new mini van.  Haha! Just kidding!  I only have one kid so need for a mini van here.  I got a new 2010 Chevy Equinox.

Mine looks just like this one except it is white.  After having a black car for the past 4 1/2 years there was no way I was getting anything other than white.  Dustin and I had debated getting me a new car for a while.  With Grayson coming and two dogs over 50 Ibs we decided a small SUV would be better.  I still needed something that was fuel efficient since I am still commuting to Dallas for work.  Luckily I car pool so that will help with gas. 

So we went to the dealership and told them what we wanted and what terms we were looking for and surprisingly we got everything we wanted.  I have had a very low car payment for the past 4 years since I put so much money down on my other car.  It was my first car that I had every bought myself and I saved up a lot of money to put down on it. I was scared that trading it in I was going to get hit with a huge car payment each month.  I told them the payment I wanted to be at and we got it.  It was the best car buying experience.  I hate shopping for new cars.  

On a sad note, my sister's fiance has been having dizzy spells and passing out.  A few weeks ago he kept feeling dizzy and almost passing out so my sister took him to the ER.  They ran some tests and did an MRI and the doctor thought he may have MS.  We were all pretty worried but the good news is, we got his spinal tap results back this week and they were negative.  The doctor still thinks there is a 10% chance it could still be MS but I am really hoping they can find out what is wrong with him.  He is going to a new specialist next week.  So please pray that they can find out what is wrong with him.

30 Weeks

Can't believe that I have only 10 weeks left of this pregnancy. As you can see I am ENORMOUS!

My ankles and feet have been so swollen.  They look better today though.  I can't stand for long periods of time without my feet and back hurting.  Working on the nursery this weekend was rough.  I kept having to take breaks and sit down.  It sure makes it hard to be productive.

I feel like it takes all my energy to get up and down.  Sometimes when I am just sitting I feel out of breath.  I find myself breathing heavy when I am just sitting and doing nothing.  I feel like I can't get enough air.

Those are my only complaints for now!  I officially can't wear any shoes with a heel.  I did manage to squeeze my feet into a pair of heels for my good friend April's wedding last weekend.

Sleep is rough most nights.  Dustin says I snore every single night.  I can't help it my nose is always congested.  I don't believe him though because most nights it doesn't even feel like I actually go to sleep.  I just toss and turn. 

Grayson is moving A LOT.  The other night after I got in bed he would not stop moving.  Dustin really got to feel him moving around.  He was definitely not being stubborn then.  

My last doctor's appointment was on April 21 and I only gained 5 pounds.  I hope I don't gain much more between now and delivery.  My next doctor's appointment is May 19 and then I start going every 2 weeks.  I still have to register at the hospital and visit with the pediatrician.  I kind of already picked the pediatrician I want to use without meeting with her.  Practically everyone I know that has a child goes to her.  I have heard really great things about her.  I plan on making an appointment with her soon.

I haven't looked into taking any classes.  The only one I was really interested in taking was a breastfeeding class.  Did any moms out there take any classes before delivery?  Did you find them helpful?  My doctor didn't discourage me but she didn't encourage me either.  She basically said they could be helpful but every delivery is different.  I kind of already felt the same way before I talked to her.

I am getting more excited, anxious and nervous every day.  It is going to be here before I know it.  I just feel like I am not going to be ready or I am not going to have everything ready.  I try not to think about it because it is overwhelming. Ready or not he will be here in about 10 weeks and deep down I know Dustin and I will be fine! 

 

 

So Excited!

My baby shower is about 3 weeks away and I can hardly wait!  Now that all the invitations have been sent out and I am pretty sure everyone has received theirs so I can post the super cute invitation.

The nursery is finally coming together.  I just want to sit in there and stare at it.  We still have several things to do but in another week or two it should be complete!  I will be back with a 30 week update this week.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
